We have not had any other users report this problem, and I am not able to reproduce it myself.

The problem is most likely a conflicting plugin. Can you check PHP error logs on the server to see if it shows the problem?

Hi, we are also having the same issue. Customers that are not logged in to their accounts will see a blank screen when trying the checkout using PayPal express. URL

When you see a -1 like that it means there’s a basic function in WordPress that is not able to run for some reason. This could be a conflict with another plugin, it could be something like cURL simply not being enabled, or any other number of things.

You need to check PHP error logs on the server to see if anything is showing up there that will point us in the right direction.

Another option is to disable all other plugins on your site to see if the problem goes away, and then re-enable each one at a time until the problem comes back. Then we’d know the culprit. Of course, that’s the sort of thing you may want to do on a test server so you don’t affect your live site.

It seems that we were able to reproduce this in the latest version of IE, so I have our developer working on that right now. We should be able to figure out what the problem is and get a patch released very soon. I’ll update again when that’s ready.

It’s strange, though, we’re only able to reproduce this is we have 2 separate carts open in different browser tabs/windows.

Is that the same for you, by chance? If you just have the site open in a single tab and go straight through like usual does it work? That seems to be the case for us.

If you are asking us, in our case this problem is present everytime we try to use paypal when not logged in to our account. The problem persists in multiple tabs, windows and browsers, all very consistent. Thank you for support on this.

Yes, I guess I’m just asking both of you (and anybody else who happens tos ee this if you’re having the same problem.)

Are you able to check your PHP error logs to see if anything there is showing up?

I’m actually unable to reproduce it here, but another developer of ours says he is able to reproduce it only under a unique, multi-tab circumstance, and obviously we have the two of you saying it’s happening on a more regular basis.

I really haven’t had any other reports of this, though, so it must not be wide spread. It’s proving tough to troubleshoot, so any details you can provide as far as error logs and plugin logs would be great.

Can you verify that the problem is only happening for you when you are not signed in to the site?

We’re having strange issues there and I’m trying to make sure we’re not crossing over two separate problems. I have somebody in India that is getting the error when they try to use Express Checkout at all, whether it’s through this plugin or even basic samples we have setup in our general PHP class libraries that we use everywhere. PayPal is simply blocking his range of IPs for some reason. When he signs in to a VPN so it looks like he’s somewhere else then everything works fine for him, and he cannot reproduce this blank white page (-1) error.

I am also not able to reproduce the problem at all here where I am at.

So, I’m curious, where are you all located?

The problem comes when we are not logged in the system. Clients also reported this problem. We are located in the US. Error logs shall try to send soon.

I am in Canada and the client is in the USA.

Well, unfortunately, that puts us right back to square one then. We are not able to reproduce this problem in any browser, whether we’re logged in or not, as long as we’re on a connection that PayPal’s server isn’t blocking.

And when it was happening because of the connection it was happening in all browsers, regardless of whether we were logged in or not. So that seems to be a separate issue from this (though something I should circle back with PayPal about).

So yeah, PHP error logs will be helpful. If you can disable other plugins on the site to see if the problem goes away that would be helpful. Then you could re-enable one at a time until it comes back so we’d know the culprit.

Also, if you could maybe check previous versions of our plugin to see if the problem only happened in this latest update or not..??

Anything you can tell us would be great, because again, without the connection failure variable in play, we cannot reproduce this issue.

    All I have is:

    PayPal for WooCommerce
    WooCommerce
    WooThemes Helper

even with the log enable I see nothing in logs.

I think I will disable this for now.

If you could try one more thing and maybe change to a different theme to see if the problem goes away then that would be greatly appreciated. Or at least let me know which theme you’re using please. Thanks!
