• Hi,

This morning I encountered the white screen when trying to add a new article to my blog.

I’ve tried disabling the plugins and the themes, neither has fixed the issue.

I have zero experience with all the coding involved with the website, and everything relating to that has gone straight over my head and I don’t know the best way to fix the problem.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

One thing you could try is disabling all the plugins you have and then try again. If it works, you know the problem is with one of the plugins. If it doesn’t help, things get a bit more complicated.

There may be many different causes of the blank page. The only way to know for sure is checking the server error log. If you could post it here, it will give us more information and help narrow down the problem.

You can ask your hosting provider where to find the error log.
If you have a hosting panel like CPanel you can try to search for the error log in there.
If neither of the steps above are successful, you will have to ssh into your website and check your Apache settings.
Please see this article on how to find location of the server log on your server.
If you’ve found the error log and you don’t see anything in there, try to add “LogLevel debug” directive (without quotes) to your Apache configuration file and restart the web server.

    Hi @tomlane041098

Try disabling all the plugins on your website and see if that fixes your issue.

    Hi @zieladam and @simrandeep

The plugins were the first thing I checked. Disabled all of them and it still didn’t fix this issue.

Honestly, things like server logs and error codes are a foreign language to me. I’ve looked at the article you sent me @zieladam and I don’t understand a single work of it. I’ve never heard of a ErrorLog Directive, I have no idea where the ‘files’ are that it references either.

I’m sorry if I’m being difficult. It’s all alien to me. I see other users attaching their error files to their forum posts and I always wonder where on earth they found them.

Try to ask your hosting provider support. They may guide you to where to look error logs.

Most probably you have to log in to your Cpanel and type ‘error’ in search box.it should bring you the error log icon. By clicking on it ,you will find the error log.

    Something like this.
