• Hi All,

I’ve created a new site and keep getting a white page for the site. I can access the dashboard just fine. I’ve deleted the database and made a new one and installed again. Still having the same issue. I had this issue when designing a site for someone else on their host, but I did a re-install and it worked fine. Not working in this case. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • If you can access /wp-admin, it might be more likely to be an incomplete or corrupted ftp file transfer than a database related issue. When you say you re-installed, did that include re-uploading the WordPress files?

    Thanks for your response CalytonJames

The corrupted upload was the problem last time. That’s why I did the re-installs this time. I watched it install on the FTP, too, and all the files seemed to go through fine. I completely deleted all the files (including WordPress) and completely uploaded them again. Any ideas? Thanks!

If the file transfer is complete in a new/default installation, the only thing that comes to mind is a possible directory/file ownership or permissions issues.

Hmmm, not sure how that would get me sense I setup all the usernames/passwords.

WordPress usernames and passwords have nothing to do with file and directory permissions on the web server. If you can navigate the back-end with no problem, it still sounds like a missing or corrupt file issue to me. This is happening with the default WordPress theme and no plugins activated, is that correct?

I was referring to database and FTP usernames/passwords, too. Yup, pure default.
