Great plugin! Does wonders for our landing page!

I would like to request a new feature in a future version to allow white listing of trusted IP addresses to override the bad bot list. The reasoning being that we use several monitoring services that are listed in the bad bots table. Of course, as of today, we disable those bots in the bad bot listings for which we need to work with our monitoring services. But, this solution also opens the flood doors for all of these specific bad bots, from everywhere, and not just for our own monitoring services.

    Thanks again!

    Hi Killerdog,

    Thanks for your suggestion.
I’m studing the inclusion of one blacklist bad ips table (and one withelist). The problem it is the blacklist it is not small and need be update often. I’m doing research and tests about.

    Cheers,
    Bill

Interesting. That should prove to be a very effective feature indeed. Looking forward to it.

Have you considered running the IP address blacklist like a RBL, using efficient real-time DNS requests? And have new IP-addresses automatically added to the blacklist, on the server side, as soon as several independent administrators have manually added the same IP address?

A suggestion would be to start with a manually-updated blacklist and whitelist, in order to have your community thoroughly test these new features and get some useful feedback.
