Hi again @dennisr1,
Thanks for the screenshots, I do see the issue.
I attempted to recreate this on my test site and could not. Just to confirm, I’m setting the background of the emails to black using the MailPoet template editor in the latest version of MailPoet. To do this:
- go under MailPoet > Settings
- click on the “WooCommerce” tab
- click the button to “Open Template Editor”
- click on the WooCommerce generated content block
- use the options at the bottom on the right to set the block background and global background to black
It looks like this:

Using this method, I tested sending this email to our server that can test the layout in many different platforms and browsers, and it passed testing for all, including on mobile with Apple devices.
This shows it is not a bug with MailPoet, but something specific to your emails.
It looks to me, from your screenshots, that there might be content in your email that is forcing the email to be wider than it should be. For example, if you are embedding custom content that includes a fixed-width image, embeds an advertisement, or links to an external site, this could include fixed-width content that forces the actual content of the email to be squished.
Can you:
- edit your MailPoet template to remove ALL custom data and information, other than the standard header and WooCommerce content block
- re-run the test
Thank you!
