When citing the same source more than once, using the following code, there is a permanent whirling cog at the bottom of the page.

    [zotpressInText item=”{XJGB5J6D,10}”]
    [zotpressInText item=”{XJGB5J6D,15}”]
    [zotpressInTextBib style=”apa” sortby=”author” order=”asc” title=”yes”]

This seems to have been caused by a caching problem, which is now resolved.

    Hi @ericcorbett2,

I am having the same issue. How did you resolve the “caching problem”?

I am using the Hello Elementor theme and Elementor Pro.

    Thank you for your help!

I didn’t do anything, it just resolved itself after a few days, which is why I put it down to a caching problem.

I see, thank you for your reply!

The whirling cog is still showing up on my page in spite of me refreshing the cache. I hope it resolves in the coming days!

Like you, I found that refreshing the local cache made no difference.

In the end I put this issue down to a caching problem on the server.

Ah, I see, thank you for your help.

I rectified the problem on my end.

With the elementor page builder, you can create a predefined template for posts. When I used zotpress with a template it caused the spinning wheel. When I used zotpress without a template, i.e., built the page from scratch, the spinning wheel no longer showed up!

That’s interesting, but I’d be inclined to suspect that it’s a coincidence. The page builder I use also allows the use of templates, but none of the pages I had problems with used templates.

The whirling cog suggests that a request to the server hasn’t completed, so I further suspect that if you’d done nothing at all the whirling cog would also have been gone. Post hoc, ergo propter hoc.

But whatever, it’s good that your problem is now fixed.

The problem might be limited to elementor templates. I have experienced issues where widgets that work well on a stand-alone page break when used on page built on an elementor template.

I initially thought it may have been a coincidence as well. I tried zotpress again on a template page and the whirling cog appeared. I wonder if the template somehow interferes with the server request.

Nevertheless, I am happy the issue is resolved! Thank you for your insight.
