• I would like to build a simple (non-public) website to capture some data. The database in MySQL and is on the same host as the website, but is not the actual WordPress database. I assume that this database can be accessed – I have found some stuff about this, but any pointers would be welcomed.

More importantly, which plugin(s) do you recommend using for capturing the data? The data is generally one of two types: text fields or links to other tables.

    Thanks

  • Hello @groston,

I hope you are doing well,

I would like to suggest to you something that will help you to archive things you have mentioned in the question.

Plugin you can use any form plugin I would like to suggest
    1. Forminator
    2. WPForms
    3. Contact Form 7

you can use anyone between this and you can do this google sheet integration you all data will be fetch in Google sheet.

you can receive form entries in the website backend and in the mail.

I hope you find this helpful and if you need anything else related to this let me know I feel happy to help you.

    Cheer!

Thanks, but… The plug-ins you identified seem to be geared at someone who wants to build a contact form, not capture data and store it in a database. Am I missing something?
