Which sitemap/s to submit to GWT?

    First off, ‘XML & Google News Sitemaps’ is a great plugin – I’ve used it to replace two other plugins, and it does the job better than both of them put together.

    But I am not sure whether I only need to submit the following sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools: sitemap.xml

    Or whether I should submit all of these instead/as well as sitemap.xml:
    sitemap-home.xml
    sitemap-posttype-post.xml
    sitemap-posttype-page.xml

  • Hi, you only need to submit sitemap.xml

    That URL is in fact a sitemap index which in turn references the actual sitemaps. Google will recognise it as such ??
