• Hi

On most of my previous blogs I’ve used the “Date and name” permalink settings. But I’ve noticed that many WordPress blogs use the “Post name” or “Month and name” settings. I’m just wondering if there are any specific reasons behind that. Does it help with performance, SEO… or do some sites not want to associate a post with a date?

On a new blog I recently set up I decided to try this custom structure: “/%year%/%postname%/”. Do I gain anything in performance or SEO by skipping the month and date “folders”?
