Which is better? Upload or Embed?

  • I have a very graphic heavy website with lots of images and videos. I’ve been embedding videos from youtube, but am wondering if it would be better to upload images for a slideshow and use Wordcycle (plugin), or to just host them on Flickr and embed the slideshow?

    Which would, in the long run, make the site go faster? Which is a better option?

  • Well, I would like to embed than upload…

    When you upload, you consume lots of space for your stuffs, website become slower when a lot of people download large files at once. But then, you can customize the stuffs like using your watermark etc.

    When you embed, not much modification for the file you can do, but the hard work of the server is divided, make everything loads faster. It’s really helpful when you prefer not to use caching plug in; accessing the database takes time and server resources.
