• I use the Genesis with a Child Theme. There are so many ways to edit the CSS code; Simple Hooks, Simple Edits, Jetpack CSS Editor, WP native Editor, WP Editor plugin, etc.

Does it matter which method you use as long as its performed on the Child style sheet? Where does Jetpack put the edits? I can’t find them on the style sheet. Besides convenience, is there any reason to not use only one editor?

Sorry for the barrage of questions but I’d like to understand before I start racking up edits. Thanks.

    Dan

  • Do you find a custom CSS box? Place your custom CSS in that box and save it. Don’t do anything else.

I appreciate your reply but I don’t think I understand it. All the options provide some sort of editing box. Are your referring to the Jetpack CSS Editor? I tried that and it works but I could not find where it was saving the changes.

Did you try inserting your custom styles into the custom CSS box of your Genesis Child theme’s custom CSS box? That’s what changes your theme’s styles.

Thanks, again, but my question is not about inserting CSS. There are different methods, as in the initial post, that seem to all edit the same file. My question is about any preference in the different editing. I know how to use them, but is one preferred over another.

They all have a “CSS box” so when you suggest that it is unclear which CSS edit method you’re referring to.
