Which checkout fields are unnecessary when selling online services?

    Hi,

    I’m building a website for selling graphic design services online. I will only offer 4 products and all of them are virtual (I don’t need to ship anything).

    I’m trying to make the checkout process as seamless as possible. Since I don’t need to ship anything, I don’t think that all of the checkout fields are necessary and I want to get rid of them.

    Which checkout fields are unnecessary when selling online services?

    If you mark the product as virtual the checkout will not show any shipping fields.

    Otherwise you can edit the checkout fields with Checkout Field Editor

    Hi,

    Yes I have marked the products as virtual. However, there are still a lot of fields to fill in in, which might scare a lot of customers away.

    I would like to use the Checkout Field Editor to remove the unnecessary fields. But I don’t want to remove any important fields that are needed for Woocommerce or the Payment Gateway providers.

    As an example, I looked at Elementor’s checkout page. They are also selling virtual products. And they are only asking for 4 things: Name, Country/Region, State/County and Postcode/ZIP.

    Are these 4 fields enough when selling a virtual product?

    Hey there @jokubas2000k,

    The specific fields required will vary by payment processor, so we’d recommend checking with the specific one you’re using.

    While sometimes not required by payment processors, it’s good to keep the Email field required so they receive order update emails.
