• Hi

I am fairly new to this. I have recently set up a blog site which is in its early stages. I have been attempting to add a plugin but I am experiencing problems. When I initially entered my WP admin site I had two plugins available ‘Hello Dolly’ and another I cannot remember the name of. I wanted to upload a third ‘Chicknet creator’ from a website I had found.

I uploaded it via an FTP client and when I visited my blog site it appeared that although the names like ‘google/yahoo’ were there, the icons were missing. So I deactivated all plug ins and deleted the file via my FTP client. I thought I would go through the whole process again(downloading from website to my documents-extracting and uploading via ftp client)as I was not sure that I uploaded the images properly the first time. When I went back to my WP admin there were no plugins there and I cannot upload any plugins whatsoever.

I have made numerous attempts to upload via my FTP client but when I check my wp admin they are still not there so I cannot activate the plug ins. I am confused because I could do this initially. Also the two plugins I had initially have now disappeared.

    1) What the hell have I done?
    2) I have looked at buying WPremix. Will this solve my current issue as I have been informed it helps you build a real site with basic knowledge of HTML?

Any help/advice would be uch appreciated as I have also logged a similar message on my ftp forum but nobody sems willing to respond. The version I have of WP is the one before 2.6.5 as I always have the option avialable to upgrade to this on my wp admin site.

    Thanks for reading.

By this do you mean that am I uploading it via my ftp client to the address you have mentioned?

    I’m sorry I am a complete novice!!

I will give it a try and let you know.

    Thanks for your advice.

I have just had a go and this is what is showing in my FTP Client:

    Public_html/WP-content/Plugins/Chicklet-Creator

    However nothing is still showing.

The aforementioned content was already in my FTP client. Is there any confirmation or uploading button I should be clicking after it is in the uploaded section to get it across?

Also in my ‘WP admin plugin’ section it has the following message:

‘To install a plugin you generally just need to upload the plugin file into your /home/fantasyf/public_html/wp-content/plugins directory. Once a plugin is uploaded, you may activate it here.’

    Thanks

    Does anyone have any ideas?
