    Dear germanized team,

I need to know, where to translate the checkbox text of the optional email check field (below stated) within my checkout page?

“I would like to receive exclusive emails with discounts and product information (optional)”
    Screenshot > https://www.screencast.com/t/Pp1NBYqA

Usually, I use WPML to find all the strings to be translated, but this one above stated is not to found within string translation of WPML.

Do you have any ideas why and where to find this string to be translated?

    Best regards, Alex

    Hi again,

as I am not sure if the topic is related to your plugin. To make sure, I additionaly have asked the mailpoet team to be found in this article.

I hope one of your both will find a solution for my translate problem.

    Best regards, Alex

    Hi Alex,

WPML string translation is the right path here. We are registering the checkbox settings (e.g. label etc) via a wildcard for the option name woocommerce_gzd_legal_checkboxes_settings – maybe you’ll need to search for this admin_text instead.

    Cheers

Hi again and thanks getting back to me,

If I use the search function to search within all strings, then there is a similar text found, which I already translated, but it has the “(optional)” info missing.

    Screenshot > https://www.screencast.com/t/fqLXFPWi

    Text in checkout page:
I would like to receive exclusive emails with discounts and product information (optional)

    Text found in string translator:
I would like to receive exclusive emails with discounts and product information

Do you have any other ideas about this issue to be solved?

    Best regards, Alex

    Hi Alex,

seems like this is a string defined by the mailpoet plugin (as the plugin sure does offer a custom checkbox integration too). Germanized registers it’s own checkbox logic and it seems like you’ve added/edited a checkbox within the Germanized settings > checkboxes too with a mostly equal description. You will need to filter the list as described above to translate Germanized checkbox settings.

    Cheers

    Hi again,

I’ve checked all “_gzd_” strings, but unfortunately, I am still not able to find the correct one.

    Any further ideas?

    Hi Alex,

is this a custom added checkbox? Could you please provide a screenshot of the corresponding checkbox settings (Germanized > Checkboxes > Your checkbox) too? Please re-save (maybe adjust the title a little too) the checkbox settings too and see whether it gets registered. The only thing Germanized does is registering the option via wpml-config.xml. The rest of it is handled by WPML – you may need to reach out to WPML support on this issue too.

    Cheers

    Hi again,

I guess this is related to mailpoet because this is a string comming from their plugin. Here is a video screen recording to see the problem > https://www.screencast.com/t/03EIF1nlll

I also found an info from WPML but it seems that this is not the same string where I have the problem with. https://wpml.org/forums/topic/cannot-translate-mailpoet-string/

    Any further suggestions are apreshiated.

    Best regards, Alex

P.S. I also found this article which is also related to that problem.

    Hi there,

could you please deactivate the mailpoet plugin for testing purpose? What does the checkout look like afterwards? Is the checkbox missing?

    Cheers
