    Hi,
I update to the latest SWPM Version 4.1.5 and like the new feature of showing password in the login form. My site is a bilingual site and like to translate the wording “Show Password”. I use Loco Translate, but cannot find the text in SWPM to make the translation. Please help.

Thanks @mbrsolution. Actually the wp login dialog box shows an eye icon to display password. That can be toggled on and off. Such implementation is pretty common and universally understood, and requires no translation. Can that be done in SWPM?

The new release of the plugin has an updated POT file that has the “Show Password” string in their for translation.

At first we tried to do the icon approach but when we tested that implementation with a bunch of different themes, it had much more CSS conflicts. Our plugin has to show the login form on the front-end of the site which is affected by the theme a user uses on the site. The admin login form is not affected by the theme.

So we decided to do a simpler implementation that has a much much lower chance of being affected by the CSS of various different themes out there.

    Hi @wpinsider-1,
Thanks for your reply. As I indicated Polylang could not find the “Show Password” source text. But you said the text has been included in the pot file with the latest update. So I manually download the simple-membership.pot file from /public_html/mytest/wp-content/plugins/simple-membership/languages. I open it with Poedit and search for the text. I still cannot find it.

Yes it is good idea to avoid conflicts with all cost. Good call.

You should definitely see that text in the following POT file (the main POT file of the plugin):

    simple-membership/languages/simple-membership.pot

If you are looking at the POT file of a particular language, then that one may need to be recreated from the above mentioned POT file.

Hi @francoc30, I just completed a test in my Spanish dev site and I do see the string “Show Password” translated into Spanish. I can confirm the string is added to the latest pot file.

    Kind regards.

    Hi,
I look again in the simple-membership/languages/simple-membership.pot with Poedit and cannot find the source text. I even download the pot files from WP Translate Project – Simple Membership for simple-membership-zh_HK and simple-membership-es_ES. I cannot find the source text there either. I don’t know what else I can do.

May be, can you send me the pot file where you have the source text so I can upload it to the server? Not sure if that would work.

Hi, please download the following pot file. This file does contain the following string “Show Password”.

Let me know if you need more help.

    Thank you.

    Hi @mbrsolution,
Thanks for the link. After popping around, I manage to download the pot file. I have now replaced the installed pot file with this one from github. The source text is there and I can do the translation on the new text.

I think there is a problem with the package of the update package with release 4.1.5 that the pot file was not updated. Not sure how that happened. Hope you folks look into it. The issue is now resolved for me. Thanks.

The pot file is meant to be released in the next plugin release version ??

    Sorry about any inconvenience.

    Kind regards.

At the start you should have let me know that the pot was not updated (generated) for version 4.1.5, but instead you folks told me all was fine on your side and the new text was there. This wasted me a lot of time to investigate and test and ran around. I am not a happy camper!

Hi, my apologies. I worded my last comment above incorrectly. I meant to say that the pot file was meant to be released with version 4.1.5 but because you reported this string issue, we decided to release in version 4.1.6. Thank you once again for reporting this issue and sorry for not wording the comment above correctly.

    Kind regards.
