• Hello,
I see that not all translations are complete in the new contact forms builded with “Smart Grid-Layout Design for Contact Form 7”. So, I have tried to add some translations for the launguages French etc.
Where do I need to put my adjusted .mo or .po files for “Smart Grid-Layout Design for Contact Form 7”?
I have tried in the following folders:
    wp-content/plugins/cf7-grid-layout/languages
    wp-content/languages/plugins/cf7-grid-layout
But I don’t see my adjusted translations appearing in new contact forms.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards.

bon je vais continuer en anglais au cas ou d’autres utilisateurs serez confronte a ce probleme…

I re-edited/re-updated the ‘.po’ file and saved + compiled it to ‘cf7-grid-layout-fr_FR.mo’ in the ‘plugins/cf7-grid-layout/langauges/’ folder and it is working just fine when I switch to french locale on my dashboard.

I am assuming the issue may have been in a corrupted ‘.po’ file.

I am pushing the new po file in the trunk, but you can also get them on the github repo.

    Hello,
I’m sorry, but I don’t see no changes. I have downloaded your new version here and also donwloaded the translated files from your github, but nothing is working for me.
I have tested on a very new clean WordPress website, so no other plugins can interrupt.
    See my screencapture here.
Or maybe I do things wrong? I start a new Contact Form with your “Smart Grid-Layout Design for Contact Form 7” plugin, in the French language but no all translations are done. Some items are still in English.
So? Please, can you help me to find the reason for that?
Thank in advance (And sorry if I don’t understand some things…).
    Best Regards.

    Bonjour Alain,

desole, je suis en conference cette semaine et n’est pas trop le temps de repondre….

however, the translations you are seeing on your screen are provided by the CF7 plugin translation files (contact-form-7-fr_FR.mo) however, the Smart-grid uses many more labels (such as the ones you are seeing unstranslated on your screen) and these come from the translation file cf7-grid-layout-fr_FR.mo which needs to be updated.

but the best is to do the translation directly in the polyglot site, and the plugni will download the translation

    Hello Alain

I realise one more issue that I need to fix to make the translation work. Currently the plugin will only pickup the changes once have installed the correct .mo file in your language folder and create/edit a form in that locale. however, the plugin should really donwnload the correct translation for each locale installed in the PolyLang plugin…something the polylang extension does for the cf7 plugin translations….

I will make a note of this and update this in the next release the polylang extention so it is done automatically for you. In the mean time you should still be able to get it to work by placing it in the language folder.

    Hello,
    I’m sorry but I don’t understand it.
I have search in the file “cf7-grid-layout-fr_FR.po” with a standart text editor (NotePad++) for the translations into Frence and they exists. But, I can’t open the “cf7-grid-layout-fr_FR.mo”. It’s the compiled version.
Anyway, I have tried to put these files in the ‘plugins/cf7-grid-layout/langauges/’ folder but nothing is changed. The translations are not taken.
I want to use the free version of the POedit tool to open the translation file “cf7-grid-layout-fr_FR.po” but it doesn’t open. POedit gives an error that this files is corrupted.
Maybe I’m comfused with some things, but I don’t get it work as you mentioned in your latest answer. Sorry by that. ??
    Best Regards.

    Hello Alain,

I have some update on this I need to roll out. The last version mo/po files are indeed corrupted, you need to either download the latest version or get the po file from the gituhub repo. Did you try that?

    Hello,
Yes, I have tried the latest versions as you mentioned. For me it doesn’t work.
I think that there are other problems with it. As I wrote before, I quess that some mo/po files are corrupted and not solved yet.
