Antoine has very kindly included code in this forum to make useful changes to the app.
I’m really keen to try a few out, but I’m completely clueless as to where I need to ‘stick’ this code!
Could somebody help me out please?
The code I’m particularly interested in is football-pool-extra-match-save-buttons.php
Thanks ever so much for any guidance.

    Hi,

You have to put the .php file in the plugins folder of your WP install (/wp-content/plugins). When the file is placed there, go to the plugins option in the WP admin and activate the plugin.

Does that mean I need to use this full URL in the address bar… https://spa-games.uk/wp-content/plugins/

If so, the page doesn’t load – just a blank screen.
If not, then how do I find/use wp-content/plugins/

I feel very daft asking that, but this simplest instruction is beating me at the moment!

You have to upload the php file to this path using an FTP client (e.g. FileZilla).

Other option that might also work (never tried it, though): zip the php file and upload it via the wp admin (Plugins menu).

    Hi Antoine

I downloaded FileZilla as suggested and have placed football-pool-extra-match-save-button-at-top.php in to /public_html/spa-games.uk/wp-content/plugins but I don’t see any additional Plugins in https://spa-games.uk/wp-admin/plugins.php?plugin_status=all

Am I doing something obviously wrong?

    Regards

    Hi,

I can access the file on your server (so it’s in the right spot), but when I view the source, I see a scrambled php file (and source should be empty when viewing via a browser). So, looks like the file encoding is wrong. Did you perhaps save the contents of my file in a new php file?

Try downloading the original file directly from my dropbox and uploading it again.

Your suggestion has worked Anton – I can now transfer using Filezilla:) Thank you so much for your help. I can really start to’beef up’ the plugin functionality now.
