Where to Put Free Files to Give Away

  • I want to put some zip files for readers to download for free. Idon’t know where to put them and how to make them available for my readers to download.

    Need Help Please.

  • you can put them in any folder on your site with a link to it somewhere in your blog and it will be available

    If you have FTP access you can do as samboll suggested. If not you’ll need to host your files on a free hosting service and link to them there. Personally I use blogger for it’s free hosting and link to them occasionally. The risk of using a third party hosting is you never know when they’ll decide it’s time to purge their database and you’ll lose your files.

    Mediafire is free and provides direct links to files for download. I’ve used it for over a year with no problems. There is NO reason for any third party host to “purge their database” causing loss of files. That is an actionable claim.
