I’m a fresh newbie and I know this should be a simple function, but it’s not!. I created a PAGE called Photos & Posts where the site visitors (a very small social club site) can upload photos and information. I inserted the correct shortcode and the form displays properly. When I did a test posts, I got the email to publish the posts. My “duh” questions, where do the posts go? Do I need to create a landing page for the posts? I see it on the POSTS tab but what needs to be created to display them on a page? Thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Glad to help:

    1) “where do the posts go?”

They “go” to the same place that regular WP posts go. That is, with USP, all submitted posts are handled by WordPress just like regular posts that you write in the Admin Area. You can visit the Posts screen anytime to view and edit your posts.

    2) “Do I need to create a landing page for the posts?”

There is no requirement to create any pages for USP to work.

    3) “I see it on the POSTS tab but what needs to be created to display them on a page?”

Displaying posts on a page is its own thing, usually handled via the theme template. But there may be a plugin that displays posts on a page. It’s not something that USP provides.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can provide any further infos.

    Jeff,
Thanks. I’m still not clear on Post vs Page, but that’s my problem to solve. I’m not a blogger and have some catching up to do. However, I think I found a solution under “display the form” in the settings tab. I found a shortcode, [usp_display_posts}. I puts the posts on the same page after the post form and it display the title of the posts as a link, so that may be my solution until I discover something more “elegant”

    Thanks for the quick response

    Hi Steve,

Yes that shortcode works to display a list of submitted posts. It can be added to any post or page. The main difference between posts and pages, is that posts are chronological whereas pages are static. Here is an official doc with more infos.
