    Hi all,

Someone else set up my WordPress website on my domain which is why I need to ask this question. When I type my URL growhotpeppers.com in a search engine, it comes up with a description underneath (Spice up your life and garden…) that I want to change. I think this is the “meta description” right? Where would I change this in the WordPress dashboard?

I logged into my WordPress account and looked at the “header.php” file. The only two “meta” tags I found are these:

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="<?php bloginfo('html_type'); ?>; charset=<?php bloginfo('charset'); ?>" />
    <meta name="generator" content="WordPress <?php bloginfo('version'); ?>" /> <!-- leave this for stats -->

Further, I checked my all-in-one-seo-pack plugin and I see some “meta” terms, but I cannot find this description text anywhere in the file.

Where else could this possibly be?

Thank you for any help that you can provide!

  • Admin > Settings > General ..

See the setting headed “Tagline” ..

Would that be what you’re referring to?

Thanks for your response. I found this setting on the dashboard, but this doesn’t match the two-sentence description that the search engine displays under my link. I just can’t figure out where this text is in WordPress.

    I appreciate your help!

Does this give you a clue..

<meta name="description" content="Spice up your life and garden by growing hot pepper plants.

That’s a snippet of source code from your page.

t31os_ you are wonderful! I logged back in and saw a “configuration” link next to the plugin that I didn’t see before. I finally got to change what I wanted.

I really, really appreciate your help!

    Thanks much.

    You’re welcome… ??

Thank you both! I was getting very frustrated trying to find the location of this text too. If you hadn’t responded back with the configuration link, I’m sure it would have taken me more minutes of increased frustration before I figured it out. Thanks again!
