where is the social links menu?

  • Hello

    I have been adding my social links urls to part of the header.php file and guess that this is not the best way!

    I have now created a social links menu calling it socialmediamenu but where should it appear? So far cannot see it on the browser!

  • The way the theme is designed, the social media menu only appears in the footer, right next to “Proudly powered by WordPress”. If it doesn’t appear there, can you verify that the menu was assigned to the correct location at Dashboard > Appearance > Menus > Manage Locations?

    Have got that right now! Plus it means that the social icons now work whereas when I added the links to the header.php file by hand as it were, they did not!

    Hey there everyone,
    I got to this thread because I’ve been having some issues with the links menu. I’m pretty sure I’ve set this up correctly, it doesn’t require a PhD in quantum mechanics. Create menu (Media Sociaux in my case, the language isn’t the issue because I’ve tried creating and English named one as well) assign menu to social menu location, create custom links and bam! unfortunately no bam in my case… the links/icons are not displaying.
    I am using a child theme and my footer text has been modified (by plugin) which could be an issue… other than that I don’t have other ideas.
