I have the free version installed and wanted to follow a blog on deferring css/js where it states I enable css minify in manual mode and add the scripts to defer using the wizard.

However I don’t see the wizard anywhere on the page.

Here is a screenshot of what I see:

Do any of those three blue buttons that are hidden in the right side have anything to do with it? I can’t see what they say so I didn’t want to click in case it did something I’d regret.

I did try clicking the Minify link in the above nav bar but it just brought me back to this spot again.

    What am I missing?

    Hello @nootkan

Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to assist you with this.
The screenshot you shared is the General Settings area in which you can choose the Minify caching method and the Minify mode – Auto or Manual.
In order to actually add the files to Minify when enabled on Manual and any advanced Minify settings, you need to go to the Performance>Minify – you can find this in the dashboard menu on the left (or right)

The “help wizard” is in the Minify Page just above the General section.
Please check more details in the How To Use Manual Minify For CSS And JS article.
    I hope this helps!
    Thanks!

    Marko, thanks for your reply.

After configuring the plugin to my theme with all the instructions provided it gave me poor results in the page speed insights so I put everything back to the default but still showing poor results.

When I deleted your plugin my problems went away and I now have a performance score of 98.

I’ve read that it is not good to not have a caching plugin so I am wondering why your plugin conflicts with the page speed insights tool?

    Hello @nootkan

    Thank you for the information.
It’s very strange that installing the W3 Total Cache gives you poor results.
However, it’s not necessary to have the caching plugin installed, and depending on the theme, plugins, and environment, some settings may cause the lower score when testing, and also possibly once the cache is purged, it may need a couple of tests with the re-generated cache.
Can you please share the website URL?
    Thanks!
