We want to try Loco translate plugin to change the default text for the search results page title from “Search results for (keyword)” to something else like for example “You searched for (keyword)”… you suggested to use the Loco translate plugin, but we are not sure which is the correct language file to edit. There appear to be multiple choices.

    …/wp-content/themes/blocksy/languages/blocksy.pot

We tried manually replacing “Search results” with “Your search results” and not seeing any changes on the front end. Cache is disabled for testing.

Please advise on solution. Some very basic documentation on how to manually edit language file would be most useful. Yes we know it would be overwritten with theme updates, but still, good to know.

    Thanks

After trying multiple files in theme that contain the phrase “Search Results” we found the one that works.

    …/wp-content/themes/blocksy/inc/components/hero/elements.php

    line 196 and line 326

Simply changing the phrase as needed works so we can have the search results page title with our desired custom text.

    Hello @wordmax

.pot files are not meant to be edited, as they are the main templates from which the .po and .mo files are created. Loco automatically takes care of this for you.

And we do have a getting started tutorial for this here – https://creativethemes.com/blocksy/video-tutorials/integrations/translating-blocksy-with-loco-translate/

Also, it is not recommended to change the theme files directly. As you know, these will be replaced automatically on updates and we won’t be able to provide support if they’re modified.

    Thanks.
