where is the code to load ‘maps.googleapis.com’ , i want to disable it

When i active nextgen, the site become so slow, because in our country the googleapis is blocked. The site is pending when load ‘maps.googleapis.com’. When i disable nextgen, become normal. But I need nextgen. I try to install the plugin ‘Disable Google Maps’ but not work..Anyone know how to do? Where is the code section? Thanks!
