Where is shortcode?

    Perhaps I’m missing something very obvious, but where do I find the shortcode to add a form to a page please?

    I can see the from mentions about Gutenberg blocks, however I am unable to use Gutenberg so just need to embed simply with the shortcode. I’m sure it used to show what it is in the form or form lost, but I cannot find it now.

    Can anyone please help? Thanks

    Hey @voodoochill,

    Good question, the shortcodes to seem to be a little hidden. Maybe it’s time to give Blocks a test drive!

    If you enter the ID of the form, you should be able to use the following:

    [mailpoet_form id="1"]

    The form ID is found in your URL:
    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=mailpoet-form-editor&id=2

    Let us know how the shortcode solution works for you!

    I was also surprised that when I couldn’t find the associated shortcode for a form. All documentation is based on Gutenberg so, people tend to think that Mailpoet only allows usage via Gutenberg.

    I suggest that you display forms’ shortcodes next to them in the forms list in the upcoming versions.

    While the “Add a form using a Gutenberg block” documentation is specifically about Gutenberg, our main documentation about creating subscription forms lists all the different options (including Shortcodes) in the Form Placement section here: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/297-create-a-subscription-form-with-our-editor#placement

    The documentation is clear, however the form shortcode is not given in the forms list. I had to search these support forums to find the @seanomattic ‘s reply to get the shortcode.

    My plan C was to download the plugin locally and inspect the code manually where the shortcode registrations were made in the plugin.

    Your plugin is amazing, but even experienced WordPress site owners can think that MailPoet can only be added via Gutenberg blocks, or via Elementor Pro Forms widget. My suggestion is to add a button to forms list where it is clearly visible that plugin users can generate and copy the embed code (the shortcode).
