where does wordpress install to

    Hi. Apologies if I sound stupid but I am very new to wordpress. I installed it on my PC to see what it was like to use and, so far good. However when I logged off for a while then came back to the machine I could not find any reference to the wordpress program and no sign of an exe file to start it. Does anyone know where it installs to? I am running windows 7 and I cant see it in either program files or program files (x86) which is where you expect to find most programs. Even a search of the c drive failed to find a wordpress.exe anywhere.
    Thanks in advance for any advice and apologies again if I am just being thick.
