I want to use this plugin to create a price comparison engine however I have some questions about how it works.

For example, I’ve three different scrapes (from three different sites) on a single page. Now, whenever that page is loaded, does it always go to these websites and get the data? Or it keeps the data locally and update it after some particular time (the cache expiration time)?

    Thanks.

At the back, WPWS uses the WordPress Transients API to cache data. What this means is that if you have some Persistent Cache Plugin / System (like Memcache for example) the same will be used, else the wp_options table is used to cache data.

Each page load will never fetch the data from source, unless you have explicitly kept cache=”0″ in the shortcode.
