Where do these Backups come from

  • Hi all,

    This may sound really stupid (and it probably is).

    Some how, my WP install generates a daily backup which is stord in folder called something like: 11eb10be78-backups
    The path to this folder is RootDomain > wp-content > 11eb10be78-backups

    I have no clue which of my plugins is generating this.
    I use two “suspicious” plugins:
    Better wp security
    Wp to dropbox (which makes a back up in my dropbox)

    In Better WP Security I have switched off the backup option.

    Where do they keep coming from?

  • You should check for malware on your site at sucuri.net and other such sites.
    Also refresh your cache in case you are using a cache plugin.

    I’m positive my sites are not infected.

    What else can I look at (I really feel very stupid now)
