• I’m using the most recent version of WP on a MediaTemple server. Where does the post go once you publish it? And is it possible to load older articles from a previous website into the WP archives?

  • All your content – posts, Pages, comments AND settings – are stored in the MySQL database. Nothing in files.

You can only copy/paste your old texts. (Theoratically, there are other options, but those require high level coding knowledge…)

Is it not possible to just export the old wordpress posts, and then import them into the new wordpress setup you have with mediatemple?

    danielwalters6,
I couldn’t see any information in the post above about the “previous website” being made with WP. Did you?

WP is now compatible with several types of blogging systems, which may use “articles”.

You said it. If you exported the posts of your old WP blog (whether .com or .org), you can import them again in the new one, BUT, you can only do this on a ‘fresh’ install and only then start making new posts. Otherwise, go with Moshu’s copy+paste option.
