I’ve read that it’s a good to write meta summaries of your posts. I’ve found several pages explaining how to write a good meta summary. What I haven’t found are instructions that tell you WHERE to put the meta summary once you have written it.

Can someone help me figure this out? Google results only tell me how to write it , not where to put it.

Install the plugin “Yoast SEO” and it will give you a snippet editor.

Thanks. I had Yost SEO installed, looked all over my WordPress administration panel for a meta summary field, including the edit post page.

That notwithstanding, I looked again and found an edit snippet section at the bottom of ‘edit post’ page.

I must have missed it the first several times times that scanned and searched the administration panel for the words ‘meta summary’

I wonder why SEO articles call it meta summary but Yost SEO calls it ‘snippet. Not a big deal, but it makes it more difficult to find.
