When someone clicks on the Twitter button, it should display the handle of my site’s account as the source. But I don’t see anywhere to add this information. I tried adding it under “Twitter Text,” but that doesn’t actually add anything at all to tweets. Where is the correct setting for this?

  • When you click on the Twitter button it should pop open a window to allow you to share that particular page/post on to whatever Twitter account you are logged into. I think that’s all it’s supposed to do?

No, that’s not what I mean. I mean the pre-populated message should include the site’s Twitter handle, so when readers click the link to share the post, it includes the credit link. That’s normal behavior for nearly all Twitter share buttons. I thought this plugin used to do that, and this seems like a new change. (An update or two ago reset pretty much all of my settings and stripped the buttons from my page, so I assumed the problem was related to those changes.)

If it can’t include credit, I’ll have to dump this from quite a few sites and switch to something that can. But I could swear it used to. That or I had to manually make the change. Was a function shared in the past perhaps that might no longer work with the latest version of the plugin?

@jhmattern I apologize for the twitter issue. We haven’t updated any of the functionality of the buttons themselves. Recent updates have been mostly related to the new configuration layout and adding Modern / Share Bar buttons. All previous twitter functionality should be intact. Let me know if this helps you narrow down your issue.
