Where do I copy code for google analytics?

According to google I should copy the code to the following location which I can’t on my WordPress site.
“Copy the meta tag below, and paste it into your site’s homepage. It should go in the <head> section, before the first <body> section.”

Modifying WordPress files that way is generally a bad idea. Try using on of these add-ons (plugins) for your WordPress site instead.
