    Hi,
I’m not sure if this relates to this forum or not. My WordPress install is basically new (maybe 3-4 months old). I see I have an activated plugin called AddThis.

Is this related to or part of the basic WordPresss install? I don’t recall intentionally installing it. I’m wondering if I can remove it without affected core WordPress functionality.
    thanks

  • Hi there,

As far as I am aware, that plugin is not part of the standard install.
How did you install WordPress? Some hosting providers include plugins with their WordPress installs.

    Hope this helps

I installed it via GoDaddy using their install procedure.

It’s possible that they added it as part of the install. It’s a plugin for social buttons. If you’re not using it for anything then I would recommend deactivating and removing it.

Problem solved. GoDaddy confirmed that this plug-in is part of their WordPress install. Interesting they would install a plug-in that hasn’t been updated in 3 years.
