I installed this plugin to create a tutorial, put in the title of the tutorial and the permalink it came up with was domain.com/?p=12892
    And it can’t be edited.

My permalinks are set to: domain.com/%category%/%postname%/

I’ve already removed the plugin, but the permalink area within the post has not returned. When I attempt to create a post I still receive domain.com/?p=12892 with no way to edit it.

    What did you do?
How do I undo it to get the proper permalinks back?

  • This plugin doesn’t actually generate any links or change permalinks in any way – it only uses links that people have manually entered, and doesn’t overwrite anything that WordPress does automatically to the extent that it remains if the plugin is disabled/removed. It sounds like your problem lies with another plugin or core, sorry. =\

You might want to review the requirements for pretty permalinks and make sure everything is set up that needs to be (mod_rewrite, htaccess, etc.):

I noticed it also mentions not to use your domain when specifying the format, so if you’re doing that you may want to take it out.

Oddly, after I removed the Unactivated NexGen plugin, the Permalinks came back. NexGen has been sitting there inactive for months without an issue, but after removing the WP gallery custom links and NexGen plugins everything went back to normal.

I’m just happy it’s working. Thanks.
