Is there a place in the WP Yoast plugin dashboard where I can see all the sitemaps and versions Yoast has created for my site???

    Hello @mfarrell407,

Thanks for your question about Yoast SEO XML sitemaps. SInce they are created on the fly, as you modify or create content, there’s no way to see sitemap versions and dates created.

Ok. As a follow-up, it seems as though Yoast is creating a separate sitemap for a subdirectory instead of incorporating it into the index. es/sitemap_index.xml is being submitted separately from sitemap_index.xml Just curious why?

Can you let me know what multilingual plugin you are using?

We do not use a multilingual plugin – just a subdirectory.

You can see the sitemap and sub-sitemaps dynamically generated by the Yoast SEO plugin for your website within the WordPress URL /sitemap_index.xml. For example, if your website URL is https://www.example.com, then the sitemap can be noticed at https://www.example.com/sitemap_index.xml

If your WP is installed within a sub-directory, in that case, the sitemap URL will have the subdirectory URL as our plugin generates for that specific sub-directory.

Yes, I can see the sitemaps under the sitemap_index.xml but I was looking for the history of dates the sitemaps have been updated, not just the last date.

Also, I am not sure why Yoast is generating a separate es/sitemap_index.xml rather than putting the es/ files under the main sitemap_index.xml?

    Thanks

Yoast is creating a separate sitemap for a subdirectory

Do you have a separate WordPress installation in the /es/ subdirectory? Do you have a multisite setup?
