Hi there – I’m trying to update the tax information for WooCommerce. When I navigate to:
WooCommerce>Settings>Taxes>Standard Rates the page is blank. Where can I find a CSV that is up to date so I can import it to my website and get accurate tax estimates on my checkout page?

    Hi there,

    Thank you for reaching out!

I understand that you’d like to find a .csv file with up-to-date tax rates (for U.S.) in order to upload it in WooCommerce >> Settings >> Tax >> Standard Rates.

While I’m not aware of a location where a full .csv file with all the taxes can be downloaded from – perhaps enabling automated taxes with WooCommerce Services could work better than uploading a new .csv file each time tax rates change:

    https://woocommerce.com/posts/woocommerce-sales-tax-for-the-us-how-to-enable-automated-calculations-and-filing/

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-services/#section-11

I also imagine that a full .csv file with all the tax rates for all U.S. could be fairly large since most states and towns have their own tax rates which are not applicable in cases where a store is located in a different location.

    I hope this helps!

Hi, I followed the steps outlined above but could not locate the “automated taxes”

I recorded my screen and uploaded it to Youtube as an unlisted video. Could you maybe figure out where I am going wrong?

    Hi there,

Looking at this video, I don’t see whether WooCommerce Services plugin installed and activated on your site.

You may want to follow the setup instructions here:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-services/#section-2

    I hope this helps!

It was installed and activated when I linked my website to my WooCommerce account.

    Hi there,

It was installed and activated when I linked my website to my WooCommerce account.

There is no need to connect your site to your WooCommerce.com account, but the Jetpack connection to WordPress.com has to be established.

This Jetpack Debugger will show if there are any issues with this connection:

    https://jetpack.com/support/debug/

As long as Jetpack is installed and connected, and WooCommerce Services plugin is also installed – you should be able to enable automated taxes.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi grigaswp:

I managed to get it working. For some odd reason there was a Jetpack activation link at the top of my plugin page. I clicked on it, and now I have access to the automated taxes. Thanks a bunch.

    Hi regalities & grigaswp:

How did you get it working? I have connected WordPress to Jetpack and have activated it.
On the tax tab on woocommerce settings, I have enabled automated tax. But when I try to add to cart and set the shipping address, there is no tax calculated (TAX: 0.00)
Do I have to add country code to Standard Rates? even if automated tax is enabled?
    Thank you

Please note that this thread is marked as resolved. Therefore, please open a separate thread.

It’s hard to say why automated taxes are not being calculated without any information about your site such as a link to a product to test with, the address you’re using at the checkout and the expected tax rate, as well as your System Status Report, so please include that information in the new thread.
