I’ve just installed YOAST Seo plugin and searched for the tables in database, but there are no tables? Does this plugin work without database?

  • Hey @serpentdriver,

Thank you for using Yoast SEO and for reaching out!

Yes, by default we just write/use to the post meta table and other places in the default WordPress tables. When you go to Yoast SEO → Tools and run the indexables, we should then, if your WordPress install has the right permissions, create the indexable tables where we store the same data in our own tables for quicker queries and performance.

    Thank you for fast reply.

If I open this menu there is nothing I can run the indexables?!

    Hey @serpentdriver,

    Thank you for your reply.

I’m not sure I understand what you are experiencing. When you say “there is nothing”, what do you see? Can you share a screenshot? You can use a service like https://snipboard.io/ to share a screenshot with us.

    Looking forward.

Nothing means there is no link or button to run the indexables. Am I blind?! ??

    Hey @serpentdriver,

It’s the big purple button called “Optimierung der SEO-Daten beginnen” in German.

Now I know what was going wrong. This issue is caused by W3 Total Cache plugin. It prevents indexing and the display of YOAST functions and settings, so you should check if this plugin is installed, but it is not enough to disable the functions of this plugin. This plugin must be completely disabled!

I have several WP installations in which W3TC is also installed. In the tools settings of YOAST, it shows me that the optimization is complete, although I have not triggered the optimization manually, but there are no Yoast tables. Can this indexing be run again manually?

Yes. It’s possible to re-run the SEO data optimization analysis by following the steps below:

    1. Install & activate the?Yoast Test Helper plugin
    2. Go to Tools > Yoast Test
    3. Locate the Yoast SEO section and click on the ‘Reset indexables tables & migrations’, ‘Reset Prominent words calculation’, and ‘Reset Internal link counter’ buttons. After each click, the page will reload to confirm that the specific reset was successful.
    4. Go to SEO > Tools, and under SEO data, click the “Start SEO data optimization” button to allow Yoast to rescan your content.

    I hope that helps!

Installed Yoast Test Helper plugin, but same issue as with Yoast Seo plugin. In tools menu there is nothing that you describe, although I have disabled W3TC plugin.

btw. This is a fresh WP installation where only Yoast Seo and W3TC plugins are installed.

Issue has been solved. I de-installed all WP installations and installed them again and now it works as expected, but don’t know what went wrong.

    Thank you for your help!
