• I am angry.

I wrote a german language file.
I am listed at the plugin-page here.

But the languagefiles are not included in the download-package, are not installed when you update from within WordPress and there is NO download-link at your website.

Why do I support your plugin when you don’t add it to the plugin?????

  • Hi Avantart.
Where did you get the base for the German translation from? I can’t see any language files in this project, it seems to lack i18n completely. Couldn’t even find anything related in the GitHub repo.

you have to open the file “delightful-downloads” from the folder \languages
open it in POedit and create a new translation,
    delightful-downloads-de_DE.mo and
    delightful-downloads-de_DE.po

BUT: all updates delete these files, none of my files survived and you have to upload again and again
but if your clients start the update-process they loose the translation and you have the trouble!

I am tired of telling developers how to do their busines correctly

I think the developers don’t understand the problem.

Thanks a lot! I can’t believe I actually didn’t notice that folder (although I’m probably mixing up plugins right now). I’ve done some translations before, although for themes. But basically the same thing.

Regarding your last two sentences: I fully understand your tiredness, feeling the same. But I don’t think this guy needs advice or doesn’t understand the problem. This plugin looks more like it’s been abandoned.

However, would you mind sharing the German language files? In an abandoned plugin there are no updates, so probably nothing will be overwritten. That’s a problem on its own, though.

I am trying to find these translations in backups ;=)

and we should test whether the placement of the files into

    …./wp-content/languages/plugins

    could work ;=)

I found “my” translation files, not all strings in the dashboard are translated

    see here:

As we’re both German – at least language-wise: Recht vielen herzlichen Dank!
And I can confirm, putting your files in /wp-content/languages/plugins as you suggested works like a charm ?? Didn’t change anything about them, just put them there.

I am glad I could help.

There is a translation pool for WordPress and WordPress plugins, and there I added all strings and translated missing strings, but these must be approved and it seems that this is not done… somebody seems not to care ..

I will try to get the rights to approve and then we will get complete translations.

    My last addition:

I managed to merge my additions to the existing translation, and this is the new Download-URL, the formerly noted download-URL is not valid anymore:
