Where are the pictures?

    Hello dear WP-experts,

    i’ve got a problem I don’t know what to think of: When I open my page from desktop (Sarafi or IE) everything works fine and fast. But when I do it with my iPhone, the pictures just won’t load, or very slowly ?? Of course i’ve got a plugin to compress the pictures.

    And it’s only with pictures. i’ve got also tables, like here: https://www.100-beste-bestseller-buecher.de/beispiel-seite-2/bestseller-2013/ Works just fine and fast.

    But if I open the mainsite, there are a lot of pictures and i find it a bit frustrating, because I can’t see, what i’m doing wrong. Can anyone of you?

  • Where is a page with pictures that won’t load? Safari on iphone has a time limit – so if they don’t load in that limit, they won’t.

    Dear WPyogi,

    thanks for the response. Well, my mainsite (www.100-beste-bestseller-buecher.de) contains a couple of images (right now six) and its always a problem. Its slow even on pages with just one or wo pictures, like the Benjamin-biography. The Safari-iPhone-timelimit is new to me, that would probably explain it. Its still bad. Open, let’s say the New York Times, or something and the page will build up in under 1 second although it contains dozens of images…

    A fun fact I discovered by the way: If you try the google speedtest on company pages like NYT or even “google.com”, you don`t get the 100 % but a couple of nice suggestions what to do about that site, instead ?? So I don’t worry much about the speedtest-percentage but I worry about the actual loadtime.

    I don’t seem to have a problem with your site on my iPhone (unless I’m still missing something). Maybe try clearing the cache on your iPhone.

    Also, have you looked at a tool such as:

    yes, it sometimes works, sometimes not. I guess i’ve basically got to find a faster way to get those images loaded. Thanks also for the link, i’ll look into that. Although it says my images are already pretty optimized.
