    Hi

I was creating a page yesterday and to my surprise there are some options gone for editing columns.
Cannot longer choose left to right / right to left , and my favorite divider ‘golden’ is also no longer available ??

Is this on purpose that these settings were (re)moved ?

now i have a lot more work resizing and moving by hand.

i searched somewhat but could not find what i was looking for ??

    thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi, thanks for getting in touch. Please, try increasing the column count and a new selection of options will be added on the right of the count.

yep until recently that was the case , now i have the option to add columns and divide in 50/50 or 25/75 , and thus those are my only 2 options, no golden, halves, no left to right / right to left anymore

I know how it used to look, it is just not the same anymore ??

Thanks for your feedback. I’ve forwarded your message to Alex at SiteOrigin to take a look at. Please feel free to send requests and feedback anytime.

Thanks for your screenshot. To speed up your workflow, the 25% and 75% values in each column can be directly edited. I’ve forwarded your request for predefined column widths to be added.

A quick follow-up. Can you perhaps clarify the following:

no golden, halves, no left to right / right to left anymore

I’m with you on no Golden and no Orientation but I’m a bit lost on the Halves. Once you’ve adjust the column count above 1, 50/50 should be available for 2 columns, 30/30/30, for 3 columns, etc.

what i meanth is that in earlier version there was a dropdown from which you could choose partitioning , like golden, halves and a lot more options.
That whole dropdown menu is replaced for 2 options, 50/50 and 25/75.
That way a lot of websites are going to look alike

I have been looking around in all of my websites, sadly i have auto update enabled on all of them , is there a way to rollback to the last version that had this feature. ?

guess what , i found some obscure website that i did not turn on auto updates :

This one is still on :

    Thanks for your feedback.

The available options are adjusted based on your column count choice. 50/50 and 25/75 are the options if you choose two columns. If you choose three columns, your choices will be 33/33/33 and 25/50/25. If you select four columns, your choices will be 25/25/25/25 and 10/40/40/10, and so on. Golden will be added in the next update.

Cell widths can be resized as follows:
    – In the main Page Builder view, you can drag the handle between columns.
    – In the row editing view, you can drag the handle between columns or adjust the cell widths via your keyboard by clicking in the percentage field and then typing in your desired percentage value.

You can download a version of Page Builder before 2.66.0 from the Advanced Options section or use a plugin like WP Rollback. Due to support concerns, we don’t recommend rolling back.

    okay thanks ….

Rollback to 2.25.3 , which is the last one before the change, disabled autoupdate.

Manually moving colums and resizing by typing in numbers for each and every column is way to cumbersome.
I consider this personally as a major downgrade of the functionality i use.
So i hope this will come back in a future release.

Not everyone needs symetric website layouts, there’s so much more than halves, thirds and quarters ??

thanks for the quick support , appreciate that..

have a nice weekend, Regards, Ed

Glad to hear you’re making progress.

Alex at SiteOrigin has prepared a filter you can use to add custom-size configurations. The latest version of Page Builder is required, and the plugin Code Snippets. The instructions can be found here.

Thanks for the quick workaround , but for now i’ll pass , i really have no clue how and were to put this fix , and to do this for all my sites is a little to cumbersome.
I don’t like to fumble around in code since i tend to forget i did such things and a year later when it’s not working anymore i have no clue why.

    But thanks anyway, Ed

    Hi Ed

Thanks for your kind reply; no worries – understood.

For interest’s sake, to use the filter provided by Alex, you would install the Code Snippets plugin and then go to Snippets > Add New to add the filter. The filter would need to be adjusted to your requirements.

    Cheers for now.
