I installed the plugin on WordPress v5.6 (wordpress.com). However, it is in a deactivated state as the plugin is not tested on the latest version. Any idea when the plugin can be used with the latest WordPress plugin? Please confirm.

Hi @anandaravind, WP RSS Aggregator has been tested and is fully compatible with WordPress 5.6. We’ll be sure to update it in our readme soon.

It can still be activated and used, and it’s completely safe to do so.

Thanks for the prompt response @markzahra and good to know that the plugin can be used with 5.6. I am on wordpress.com and I do not get an option to activate the plugin. When I try to install the plugin, I get the message it is not supported on the current version of WP and the option to install and activate is disabled. Plugin details So, I downloaded the plugin from worpress.org and uploaded the plugin. The upload was successful; however, the only option I see for the plugin is Delete! It says the plugin is Disabled. Am I missing something here?

It must be a limitation from the WordPress.com service. We’ll make sure to update it on Monday as soon as we’re back at our desks. Thanks for letting us know about this, @anandaravind, and I hope the wait isn’t too much of an inconvenience.

Having the issue fixed at WordPress.com service end to pick up the plugin would be great. Thanks @markzahra. And yes, couple of more days of wait is not an issue at this point in time.

@anandaravind the version for “Tested up to” has been updated, however, it had slipped my mind that WP RSS Aggregator is actually not permitted for use on WordPress.com. They had chosen to disallow our plugin from use a while back and would not work with us on resolving any possible issues that would be the reason for this, so I’m afraid there’s nothing we can do on our end about that.

@markzahra Got to the root cause of the issue. It looks like WP RSS Aggregator is blocked on wordpress.com hosting environment. Here is the support article that mentions it: https://wordpress.com/support/incompatible-plugins/#automated-content-plugins Surprised that there are other content aggregators plugins that are allowed and do run on wordpress.com environment.

@anandaravind that’s correct. We were surprised by that too and have brought up that concern with the team. Unfortunately, there is no word on why this is so or how we can have it sorted out. Thank you for your interest in WP RSS Aggregator nonetheless.
