When use diacritics in search, it returns 403 error

    After 5.3.1 update, search with diacritics characters returns 403 error. Can be this a bug? Has anyone encountered this error?

    Any particular diacritic? I used “résumé” on my site without any problem. A 403 error usually means the request never made it to WP so it’s likely a server issue. I would suspect mod_security or something similar having too stringent rules like not allowing ASCII code chars over 127. I suggest you ask your host for assistance.

    You are right. The problem was with mod_security. I solved the problem with the host, who changed the filter.

    If someone has such a problem, it can be temporarily fixed by disabling mod-security.

    The issue should be discussed with the host. They are able to solve such a problem.
