    Hi,

I turned on the Maintenace Mode to perform some plugin updates. As soon as I start the updates, the message on the Frontend switches to the standard WordPress Message “Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.”.

    Is this a wanted behaviour?

    It is a WordPress Multisite.

BR and many thanks in advance!

    Hi there,

This sounds more like wordpress issue, not the plugin. The message that appears is from wordpress’s maintenance mode while wordpress is being updated.

    I hope that helps,

    Lukas

    Hi Lukas,

thanks for getting back to me. Maybe I didn’t explain it clear enough, I try it again. I just updated some plugins and before I enabled the maintenance mode which is provided by your plugin, to show some custom text. But checking through another browser, I saw that during the updates of the plugin the standard wordpress message was shown although your plugin was turned on.

    Hope that makes it clearer.

    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi,

I see, that’s weird, have you tried disabling all other plugins to see if the problem is still there? This would be probably the first thing to do.

Also, this might be caused by theme, so it might worth trying switch theme to twentysixteen or fifteen.

This should give you better image what’s breaking it, there is high chance that there is problematic code / clash in one of the plugins or theme that might be breaking maintenance mode.

Let me know how you get on!

    Thanks,

    Lukas
