I have a set up where I am hoping that if I go over the maximum weight or height, it will default to a second package and this will be reflected correctly in Canada Post.

Currently if I put 15 of a specific product in the cart it should go over both the height max, volume max and weight max. However there is just a slight increase of postage when it should actually need a second package and therefor the postage should be double.

Can the plugin do this, or possibly am I missing something?

    Package details:
    -Inner dimension of 8 x 12 x 0.21 inches,
    -Outer dimension 10 x 14 x 1
-weight of empty package: 1.958 and a max weight of 2.4 lbs

    Product details:
    – 8 x 12 x 0.021 inches with a weight of 0.042 lbs

Latest plugins and wordpress installed. Using genesis theme with Slush Pro child theme. Litespeed server.

    Thanks!

    Hi dogstalker,

The set of 15 items should in fact be split between two packages in this case.

I’ve tested using the product and package specs you provided and am seeing the price approximately double between 10 items and 11 — for Regular Parcel, Priority, and Xpresspost. Which service are you using?

Not quite sure what the issue might be, but the latest version of WooCommerce Services offers a debug mode, which can be switched on in WooCommerce -> Status -> WooCommerce Services -> Debug. This will give a detailed breakdown of rates returned, along with packages and their items.

    Hope that helps.

That was super helpful – thank you. I hadn’t been looking into the right place for the logs. Turns out it’s working as it should. I also had a 16 x 24 package in there with the same height. Guess you can pack 8 x 12s side by side in that package! It never occurred to me it would have done that.

    Thanks again!

Glad you were able to sort it out!
