    Hello,

I might be doing something wrong but any clickable image which opens the file (it doesn’t link to another page) when it’s open there’s no ‘Close’, ‘Back’ buttons or arrows to go from one gallery pic to the other.

Is there a way to add this, please? I’d like to have this instead of users having to click on back button on their browser or mobile. I think it’d be benefitial from a usability perspective since your visitor’s profile might be of someone a bit older who’s not that skilled when browsing a website.

My website is https://www.shanlysapron.com and you have an example on my Gallery page https://www.shanlysapron.com/gallery/

Also is there a way to not to have images urls starting with ‘i0.wp.com/’ please?

    Thanks and Best Regards, Alexandra

Those URLs are formed that way because you’re using the content-delivery network in Photon, which is a Jetpack module that automatically speeds up image loading by hosting the files on WordPress.com’s servers. If you prefer not to use Photon, you can deactivate it in your Jetpack settings.

That comes from your selection within the gallery. You’ve selected “Link to Media File” as your image option, instead of one of the other options. (This is WordPress.com-wide behaviour, and not something specific to Sela.)

If you choose to use the Jetpack Carousel feature, your images will open up a Carousel that you can rotate through, with arrows to move next/back, and an X to close the Carousel.

Jetpack Carousel doesn’t work properly on mobiles, images are displayed one on the top of the other, you can’t use the arrows either… unless it’s due to my old mobile again?

It’s possible that’s the culprit. You could report that issue to Jetpack support team, including screenshots as well as specifying your device, OS version, and browser. They’ll be able to let you know if your configuration is supported.

In the meantime you can select the “Link to attachment page” option instead.
