When importing does it also backs up the version of WordPress?

    What we did is we have a uat server, and we upgraded the WordPress version (5.x.x), then backed up, imported it to prod. And we found the WordPress on prod was still old (4.x.x), caused some style problems with the website. We spent time to look at what was going on and eventually found a plugging that requires a newer WP version so we ended up upgrading WP, which was risky.

    SO my question is does not the plugging back up WP as well?

    No, the plugin does not include WordPress itself.
    It uses the WordPress version that it is installed on.
