• I have a contact form set up on my site hosted by BlueHost: https://www.elevationarts.co/contact/

When I try to send a message I get “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.” with an orange box around it.

I’ve read numerous articles to try to troubleshoot this and understand that the message won’t submit and send because it’s being recognized as spam. I’ve tried all the suggestions I could find to troubleshoot this to no avail from adding additional headers, checking my MX settings, adding an additional DNS record, etc. I’m using [email protected] as the to and from emails and [email protected] as the sender (additional header). I did not actually create [email protected] as an email – but even using [email protected] (real, functioning email created on the server) it doesn’t work.

    Please help!

I did contact Bluehost – waiting to hear back. Hopefully that will be the trick.

If anyone else has ideas or has experienced a similar issue I’m all ears!

So as it turns out the contact form works with default settings.

The problem occurs when additional data fields are added to the contact form. I added a drop-down menu and radio buttons to my form, which then cause the form to be recognized as spam. Seems like any additional field on the form does this. The Bluehost rep suggested the plugin developer might have a solution, or I can try using STMP instead of PHP mail. What a bummer that I have to install yet another plugin.

Do you have any suggestions for a good STMP mail plugin so that I can use the form to collect all the data I’d like from the form? Or another solution?

I’d recommend you use Postman SMTP Mailer/Email Log which includes excellent email debugging.

    Hi,

I am also with Bluehost and am getting the same orange box every time an inquiry is submitted to the site on the contact us page here – https://www.filminaction.org/contact-us/

Do you think it’s the same problem? It was working fine until a week ago and suddenly I cannot receive any inquiries. I’m not a coder so would not know how to remake the contact forms but I’m running out of ideas on how to fix the problem. I contacted Bluehost but they weren’t that helpful.

    Matt
