when I connect, I am not redirected to the dashboard of my site, but to the home

This just can’t happen since I am using this plugin on 10 of my own sites and I use it every single day. I just tested this right now again to confirm that our plugin itself doesn’t do this.

There has to be something specific to this site that is causing this behavior to happen. One of the following is most likely the cause:

1) A redirect configuration somewhere has gone wrong (maybe a redirect in the .htaccess file of your site). You could have used a plugin in the past that created the redirect rule in the .htaccess file of your site. Deactivating that plugin wont’ remove that redirect rule.

2) Maybe a redirect configuration in the membership level or in the advanced settings is not set correctly.

3) Maybe there is a customization in your themes functions.php file which is causign this.

4) If you used any kind of membership plugin before then it is highly likely that the old plugin has put things in place to do this. Just deactivating that plugin won’t suddenly fix this.

We can only guess since this is an issue specific to your site.

Best option is to try a different plugin and hopefully that won’t have the same issue. The following post has more explanation:

First of all, thank you for your answer.

1. I put back the default htaccess, it didn’t change anything.

2. I removed the redirections in the advanced settings, no change.

3. I removed a small customization in my theme functions.php, no more success.

4. And I never installed any other membership plugin before.

Finally, to be clear, I am talking about the connection to the WordPress dashboard, not the connection via the Simple Membership plugin.

Apart from that, the plugin itself works perfectly but I know how it blocks the redirection to the dashboard when I log in as admin.

So,

I created a new administrator profile and deleted the old one: No problem to connect and get to the WordPress dashboard.

However, as soon as I granted an Admin access level to see the protected content by Simple Membership: Again impossible to get directly to my wordpress dashboard after login. I am redirected to the home page.

I found it, in subscription levels you can add an After Login Redirection Page. I had not understood! So everything works perfectly! Thanks a lot!
