when I choose link to image, photo enlarges to full size

  • I’m trying to make the photos clickable as to open in a separate window and be viewed larger. I’m pretty sure it used to do this by default but along the way while messing around with the template, it changed and would link to the post. I found the link to image command which links the photo properly but also renders the photo full size in the post. Any idea why this would be? My technical know-how is lacking so please explain as close to layman terms as possible. Thanks!

    The general protocol for forum posters that bump within a few hours of posting their threads is to hire someone at https://jobs.wordpress.net for support.

    It looks like you have changed the image link when inserting the photos into the post.

    If you want it to link to a full size image, don’t use the post url in there.

    To make the photos better fit your post width, choose a size other than “Full Size”.

    Hi Andrew. I actually posted this same question 9 hours ago and last time I inquired about something else, I never got a response and my question got buried forever. Sorry if I got a little anxious.

    This forum doesn’t work that way, questions don’t get “buried”. They might not get answered, but the people who tend to read this forum and answer questions aren’t necessarily looking for the latest ones.

    If your question isn’t getting a response, then maybe nobody knows. Or maybe the question is too vague and you didn’t include enough detail. Or maybe everybody is still travelling after Xmas. I’m betting on that one.

    “Bumping” doesn’t work here because many people look for threads that have not gotten responses yet. When you bump, then your thread has a response and disappears from that list. This is why we delete bumps, because you will get more attention with an unanswered thread than you will with a more recent one.

    Try giving a browse through the Forum Welcome. It will help you navigate and ask the right questions. ??

    Ah, ok. Thanks for the heads up. There’s so much here and I missed that. And, by the way, I got my photos worked out. I was in the photo edit mode which was still making them full size so I deleted and reposted with the proper settings.
