• Hello to all,
after updating to 4.4.2 . ( Yoast also update to the latest version ) I have noticed that often in a draft , changing the title of the article and saving the draft the permalink not rewrites as before adapting to the new title , I hope I explained myself , have you ever found yourself in this situation ? you guidance and suggestions ? Thanks in advance.

  • You have to manually change the permalink if you want it to be different.

If I change a post title sometimes I’ll also update the permalink by copying the new title then clicking the little ‘Edit’ button next to the permalink and pasting in the text. When you click ‘OK’ WordPress will automatically convert the text to lowercase and replace spaces with dashes.

There was a bug in Yoasts SEO plugin that autosaved posts with no titles using the id which was fixed, but might have changed what you were expecting. Specifically version 3.1.1 “Fixes a bug where the post slug would be overwritten with the post ID in case a post was autosaved and did not have a title yet”

Hi Dan thanks for you reply, i know that i can change manually the permalink but the problem is that in the past everything was happening automatically on a draft save, is not you ?

This might be caused by a bug in Yoast SEO as noted here:
